Afternoon Tea at The Inn at Hastings Park
Thursday, February 15th, 2018
The tradition of afternoon tea originated in England during the 1800’s, when a close friend of Queen Victoria—Anna, the 7th Duchess of Bedford, complained that she was getting hungry in the late afternoon and wanted something that would tide her over till dinner, which was often served at 8 pm in her social circle. As time went on afternoon tea become a more elegant and elaborate affair. Menus became more decadent and sandwiches, cakes and scones became the norm. Afternoon tea was one of my favorite things while we lived in London. It was a welcome respite to visit with friends and families and indulge in delicious treats. We want to share this delightful tradition with you at The Inn at Hastings Park.
Every Saturday, beginning March 3rd, Chef Stacy is offering our afternoon tea service with traditional sandwiches as well as savory and sweet treats. Children will enjoy hot chocolate with marshmallows or their choice of herbal tea while adults can indulge in a selection of fine teas or my favorite a glass of champagne!
Hope to see you soon!
$35.00 per person or $45.00 with Champagne
